2.1 Our Use of European Personal Information
If you are located in the European Economic Area, we only process your Personal Information when we have a valid “legal basis”, including when:
You have consented to the use of your Personal Information, for example to process Personal Information revealing religious beliefs or political opinions, or to send you marketing communications.
We need your Personal Information to provide you with the Service, for example to respond to your inquiries.

2.2 How We Use Cookies
Cookies are small text files containing a string of alphanumeric characters which are stored on your device. We may use both session cookies and persistent cookies. We and third-party service providers may use cookies and similar technologies in the following ways:
Functional cookies. Some cookies are strictly necessary to make our Service available to you. For example, to provide the login functionality. We cannot provide you with the Service without this type of cookies.
Analytical cookies. We also use cookies for website analytics purposes in order to operate, maintain, and improve our Service. These providers may also collect information about your use of other websites, apps, and online resources.
Advertising cookies. We allow third-party advertising partners to use cookies on the Service to collect information about your browsing activities over time and across websites. We also work with these third-party advertising partners to market our Service to you on other websites, apps and online services. Where required by applicable law, we obtain your consent to use cookies. You can find more information about your rights and choices, and how to opt out of the use of certain cookies in the section Your Rights and Choices below.
3. When We Disclose Information
We understand the importance of your Personal Information, and assure you that UNITED is not in the business of merely collecting and selling marketing data. Data is nevertheless important to UNITED’s primary business of connecting people with communities, and communities with people, and of facilitating the ways in which those people and communities access and interact with providers of messaging, content, as well as products and services that speak to their unique needs and interests. As such, you should be aware that in the operation of our business, we disclose information to third parties in a variety of circumstances consistent within that broader business context:
Any Personal Information that you voluntarily choose to include in a publicly accessible area of the Service will be available to all those, including other users, who have access to that content.
We work with third party service providers to provide website, application development, hosting, maintenance, and other services for us. These third parties may have access to or process Personal Information about you as part of providing those services for us. Generally, we limit the information provided to these service providers to that which is reasonably necessary for them to perform their functions, and we require them to agree to maintain the confidentiality of such information.
One of primary purposes of the Service is to enable you to communicate, share, shop, give, and learn by connecting you, based on your interests and preferences, with others, including faith communities, faith leaders, and other community members, as well as providers of messaging, content, and products and services that align with your interests and preferences, or that we believe you may be interested in. To accomplish this goal, we may engage in transactions in which we disclose Personal Information to our partners, content providers, advertisers, or other third parties for this purpose.
We may disclose Personal Information about whether you have registered for the Service, and the nature and extent of your use and participation on the Service to those of our partners or other users who have referred you to the Service, and to those partners and providers who may have been involved or associated with that referral (such as in the case of a co-branded promotion).
We may disclose Personal Information about you if required to do so by law or in the good-faith belief that such action is necessary to comply with state and federal laws, in response to a court order, judicial or other government subpoena or warrant, or to otherwise cooperate with law enforcement or other governmental agencies.
We also reserve the right to disclose Personal Information about you that we believe, in good faith, is appropriate or necessary to (i) take precautions against liability, (ii) protect ourselves or others from fraudulent, abusive, or unlawful uses or activity, (iii) investigate and defend ourselves against any third-party claims or allegations, (iv) protect the security or integrity of the Service and any facilities or equipment used to make the Service available, or (v) protect our property or other legal rights (including, but not limited to, enforcement of our agreements), or the rights, property, or safety of others.
Personal Information about our users may be disclosed and otherwise transferred to an acquirer, successor, or assignee as part of any merger, acquisition, debt financing, sale of assets, or similar transaction, or in the event of an insolvency, bankruptcy, or receivership in which information is transferred to one or more third parties as one of our business assets.
We may make certain aggregated, automatically-collected, or otherwise non-personal information available to third parties for various purposes, including (i) compliance with various reporting obligations; (ii) for business or marketing purposes; or (iii) to assist such parties in understanding our users’ interests, habits, and usage patterns for certain programs, content, services, advertisements, promotions, and/or functionality available through the Service.
